Annapolis Education Foundation

The Annapolis Education Foundation is a non-profit corporation organized for charitable, religious, scientific, literary or educational purposes, under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 and the Texas Tax Code, Section 11.18, to raise funds for the support of educational institutions. It is the specific mission of this Foundation to assist educational institutions that offer a private, interdenominational, comprehensive classical Christian education in the Coastal Bend region of Texas. Annapolis Christian Academy, being the only qualifying academic institution in the Coastal Bend region, will be the primary recipient of the Foundation's services.

The fundamental purpose of the Annapolis Education Foundation board is to raise, and be good stewards of, funds to carry out the purposes and objectives of the Foundation. To this end, the Foundation has assembled a board comprised not only of parents and grandparents having a personal interest in the recipients of Foundation funds, but also of community businessmen and leaders having an expertise and sophistication in business organization and management, investment origination and management, corporate directorships, education and public service. The philosophy behind a Foundation, and a Foundation board, independent of and from a school board is to encourage and enable each respective board to focus on the functions for which the board members were elected (i.e., the school board to run a school and the Foundation board to ensure that the school board has the financial resources to so run the school while providing accountability, oversight and protection for such financial resources). The composition of the Foundation board will always include, to the extent feasible, members of recipient school boards to assist in the coordination of mutual objectives.
